nobody wwould question today picasso technique and the capacity to invent new techniques. however, behind this immense creative force lies in equally powerful manner an impetus a strong destructive impetus: the impetus to destroy competitors, sacred forms, life and beauty. picasso cannot see the elegance of the whores matisse is so easy to apprehend. even when he is lyrical, he goes to the dark side. his vision of women is almost contemptuous and agressive. his viison of war is monstrous. his cubism aims to accentuate sharpness and innelegance. there is always a profound sadness and mordacity in all he does. finally there is always an uneasiness about the world and himself, that makes picasso the greatest parodist and deformator of western painting.
